Sebastian Vettel: “I have confidence in our car”
Sebastian Vettel (along with his closest competitors) is looking extremely confident ahead of the 2018 Formula 1 season, saying “I have confidence in our car” following pre-season testing.
If we look back to last year, we saw similar results during pre-season testing (Ferrari looked strong) which lead many to believe that Mercedes didn’t show-off their full potential for the 2018 Formula 1 season however Sebastian Vettel, who’s aiming for a fifth World Championship title – along with Lewis Hamilton, thinks that due to Mercedes and Red Bull Racing using one type of tyre for their race distance simulations, it’ll be a different outcome.
Sebastian Vettel: “Our competitors, Mercedes and Red Bull used one type of tyre for their race distance simulations which is something you can’t do in a Grand Prix. This has an impact on the strategies and ultimately on the result.”
“During pre-season testing, we didn’t experience any major issues with the car, I had fun driving it and I think we’re starting with a good base for our SF71-H.”
“Now, we’ll have to work on the development and to further explore and improve the car potential – I have a lot of confidence in our team and I know just how skilled and committed the guys in Maranello are.”
“I can’t wait to be in Australia because once we get out on track, we will all be driving and racing under the same conditions – as I said before, I have confidence in our car.”
