Daniil Kvyat Joins Ferrari As Development Driver
It’s recently been announced that Daniil Kvyat (former Red Bull and Toro Rosso driver) has joined Ferrari as a development driver meaning that he will continue to play a role in Formula 1 during the 2018 season – albeit not in the direct spotlight.
2016 can only be described as a terrible year for the driver with a messy race in Russia – seeing him crash into Sebastian Vettel (not just once), ending his race and ultimately ending his time at Red Bull as he was then demoted back to Toro Rosso, making way for Max Verstappen to take his place.
Not much can be said for the 2017 season either as the driver lost his seat completely, with the team replacing him in November for the United States Grand Prix which took place in Austin – leaving his future within the sport uncertain.
It now seems that Ferrari have looked past the clashes he had in previous years (especially with Vettel) giving him a place to join the team as a development driver and as mentioned above, will remain involved in the sport for 2018.
