2018 Formula 1 Car Launch Dates (Teams Known So Far)
The 2018 Formula 1 season is now underway with teams announcing their car launch dates ahead of the pre-season test next month. One team which stood-out is Ferrari who actually confirmed their launch date, last year, in 2017.
McLaren announced that they will be revealing their car for the 2018 Formula 1 season, next month with an event taking place on the 23rd February and it’s expected that McLaren will hold the event in Spain rather than in the UK due to pre-season testing which takes place a week later.
McLaren are hoping for a change this season with Zak Brown saying in this post here “the visibility of McLaren is going to the next level and it’s going to be exciting” following a switch from Honda to a Renault Power Unit.
Toro Rosso on the other hand has switched from Renault to a Honda Power Unit and have announced that they will be launching the 2018 Formula 1 car on the evening before the first test takes place with an event now scheduled for the 25th February.
Earlier today, we also had confirmation from Mercedes who announced that their 2018 Formula 1 Car launch will take place on the 22nd February – the same day as Ferrari.
The first pre-season test will start on the 26th February, taking place in Barcelona and if rumours are to be believed – we could be seeing a number of teams choosing to reveal their 2018 Formula 1 cars on the same morning of pre-season testing.
