Sauber Reveals Alfa Romea 2018 Livery Concept and CONFIRM Ericsson and Leclerc
Even though the 2017 Formula 1 season has ended, the teams are already working on the 2018 Formula 1 season, before the Christmas break and ahead of the new year.
There have been rumours surrounding the Sauber Formula 1 team and we can now confirm that there has been an ongoing rebrand behind the scenes with the team now being known as Alfa Romeo Sauber F1.
Not only that, the team have confirmed their drivers for the 2018 season with Marcus Ericsson staying on with the team for another year, until the end of 2018 – which is his 4th year with the team.
Replacing Pascal Wehrlein, the team have signed Charles Leclerc who has quickly worked his way through the ranks and will be joining Marcus Ericsson for the 2018 Formula 1 season.
Apart from the driver announcement, a few days ago the Swiss-based team held an event near Milan, showing off the potential car colours for the 2018 season.
As you’ll be able to see in the image below, the concept for the car colours is a major, major change for the team – showing off a red and white livery along with a large Alfa Romeo logo, seeing as they’re now the title sponsor for the team.
It’s expected that even though Alfa Romeo is the title sponsor, Sauber will still have close ties to Ferrari too as the multi-year deal includes a variety of strategic, commercial and technological cooperation.
As you can see, the car colours are a big change for the team if the presentation is anything to go by. You can also see the prominent Alfa Romeo logo.
