Bahrain Grand Prix Qualifying – Driver Reaction
Bottas – Hamilton – Vettel
Bottas – “Yeah, obviously really happy, it’s my first pole in my career so it took a few races but I’ve got it and hopefully it’s the first of many.”
“Big thanks to the team and it’s great for both of us to be starting on the front row. It’s not an easy track to get everything right, it’s quite technical and it’s easy to miss the Apex slightly and it’s about getting the lap together.”
Hamilton – “Firstly a big congratulations to Valtteri, he’s been working so hard and getting in with the team so well done for him.”
“The first sector, it’s usually my weaker point but the second and third are good so I’ll need to work on that for tomorrow. Qualifying always forces us to be on the limit and it’s great for the team.”
Vettel – “Overall, I was very happy with how qualifying went and how the car felt – it turned out OK and in Q2 I thought it would be very tight and in Q3 I was happy with my lap.”
“When I got the time, I wasn’t too happy – compared to how the lap felt but I was quite safe overall and quicker but it didn’t work and I ended up being slightly slower.”
“Hopefully we can do more tomorrow.”
Bottas – “The main thing, I need to enjoy this but the main thing is tomorrow, there is no point to dream and we will do all we can before tomorrow and plan a good strategy, getting the maximum out of the car and as a team – hopefully we can get a 1,2 as a team.”
Lots more coming soon – including race reports and reaction from teams and drivers.
